Few pets need every vaccine available. Vaccinations will be tailored to your pet’s life-style and exposure risks.
TACONIC Rt 202 24 Hour Veterinary Center will accept emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including all holidays. While you are welcome to walk in with your pet, a phone call is always greatly appreciated and our phones will be answered 24 hours a day.
Emergencies will be triaged on arrival. Those patients requiring immediate life saving care will be prioritized, though be assured no emergency is too small for our attention.
Our in house laboratory allows us to identify and report diagnoses immediately. A tailored treatment plan can thus be made for your pet rapidly.
The most common ailment in small animals over the age of five is dental disease. Our professional staff is well trained to image, diagnose and treat dental disease. Advanced dental imaging quickly generates a 3-dimensional computerized model of your pet’s mouth. Combining this information with an in depth oral exam, the veterinarian can pin point problem teeth and provide appropriate treatment including dental scaling, polishing, localized periodontal antibiotic treatments and extractions.
A multimodal approach, including use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, opioid pain medications, and oral nerve blocks, will be used to address the pain associated with most dental procedures.
From routine spays and neuters to complicated fracture repairs, we are staffed to meet all your pet’s surgical needs. A board certified surgeon is on staff to handle any complex surgery not routinely performed. Laparoscopic and laser surgical options will be available in many cases.
Using the laser as a scalpel, we are able to provide surgery with less pain, less bleeding, less risk of infection, and ensure a rapid recovery.
All the imaging at TACONIC rt 202 24 Hour Veterinary Center will be digital. Images can be scanned immediately by the attending veterinarian. In addition, all radiographs will be read by a board certified radiologist to ensure a proper diagnosis.
Dr. Berk is USDA certified and can provide national and international health certificates.
Very safe and painless, ultrasound created images provide information that traditional radiographs and other imaging modalities can not. Ultrasound guided aspirates and biopsies are important non-invasive diagnostic tools.
