Dr. Monica Sterk, DVM

Dr. Monica Sterk grew up in Rockland County, NY. Her love for animals and passion to become a veterinarian began at a very young age. Dr. Sterk’s journey began at the University of Delaware where she studied Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Biosciences. There, she became involved in many organizations and still remains an active alumna and proud Blue Hen. After receiving her Bachelors of Science from UD, Dr. Sterk moved to Southern California to begin veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences. During her last year of vet school, Dr. Sterk completed several externships in specialty disciplines and even traveled to Poland for a general practice rotation. She is fluent in Polish and well traveled in Europe since her parents immigrated from Poland and Germany.
Upon graduating from WesternU, Dr. Sterk moved back to the East Coast to practice emergency medicine. Currently, Dr. Sterk lives in Rockland County with her 2 cats, named after the states that she has lived in: Delaware (Del) and California (Cali), as well as 2 chickens named Jagoda (Blueberry) and Krystyna! In her free time, Dr. Sterk enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
She is passionate about emergency medicine and has interests in many aspects of veterinary medicine.
